Created in 1962 through a unique agreement between the Organization of American States (OAS) and the private sector, the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) is an independent, non-profit organization 501(c)(3) that creates public-private partnerships to assist the least advantaged people in Latin America and the Caribbean. Having worked in every country in the region, PADF engages community-based groups, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), public and private sector in the process of implementing appropriate solutions for sustainable development. The Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) empowers disadvantaged people and communities in Latin America and the Caribbean to achieve sustainable economic and social progress, strengthen their communities and civil society, and prepare for and respond to natural disasters and other humanitarian crises, thereby advancing the principles of the Organization of the American States (OAS).
The Senior Project Manager will serve as the principal focal point within PADF on maternal mortality in Latin America and the Caribbean, interfacing with PADF Washington, PAHO, IPPF, University of Miami and other external partners. In addition, the Senior Project Manager will manage and coordinate the work of PADFs extended maternal health team, while providing strategic technical direction and leadership. The Senior Project Manager will also take primary responsibility for ensuring timely communication with donors, as well as the production of all work plans and reports.
Reports to, and performance evaluated by, the Director of Corporate Partnerships.

Must be an MPH or PhD and a minimum of 7 years of international maternal health program experience, including at least 4 years of experience in a leadership role.
Willingness to travel to the LAC region an estimated time of 30%.
Language Proficiency Required
: Excellent oral and writing abilities in English and Spanish.
Years and type of practical experience required:
Experience is required in the design, implementation, management and evaluation of health care services related to maternal mortality.Demonstrated effectiveness in technical leadership, both internal and external- with other organizations- particularly with highly experienced qualified colleagues. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the technical issues related to the public health management of statistics to measure Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) along with other crucial maternal health data. Previous experience in integrated community case management of maternal health is required, preferably working at various levels of the health system; prior experience at the central level or at least a provincial/regional health office is preferred. Experience working with technical staff in UN agencies (e.g. WHO, PAHO).

The Senior Project Manager’s specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Providing strategic and technical leadership to PADF’s maternal health team, ensuring completion of a policy handbook and initiating efforts to expand the contributions of PADF to strengthening health information systems related to maternal and child health in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Ensure PADF’s representation in appropriate global, regional and national maternal health technical meetings and conferences, ensuring that PADF is a leader in policy, programming and implementation discussions relevant to maternal mortality.
Formulate substantive technical contributions in collaboration with international and national partners such as WHO, IPPF, University of Miami, and international and local non-Governmental Organizations in the development and implementation of PADF’s maternal health agenda.
Manage the development and implementation of PADF's maternal health regional and country strategies, work plans, and budgets.
Managing data collection, analyzing tasks and budgets, developing protocols and training materials, preparing reports and writing proposals.
Design and implement research studies including development of manuals of operation, data collection instruments; provide project coordination, management and oversight, lead or co-lead training, participate in analysis and reporting:
1. Use methods and instruments for collecting valid and reliable quantitative and qualitative data
2. Compile reports on the characteristics of the maternal health information systems problems that exist in LAC
3. Identify gaps in data sources and integrity of that data
4. Employ ethical principles in the collection, maintenance, use and dissemination of data and information
5. Describe how data can be used to address maternal health issues
Oversee the project and ensure knowledge transfer is consistent with public health laws and regulations.
Assist in identifying, monitoring performance and supervising the work of consultants, subcontractors and partners as needed.
